As the founding President of Clovis Community College with 43 years in higher education and current Trustee incumbent, I have the experience to meet the challenges facing us today.
You passed Measure C providing funds for new facilities but we must continue to ensure our district moves forward and keeps its promises. I insured that a new Police and Fire training facility is on track to be built. We have upgraded classrooms throughout the District for healthcare, technology and engineering as these real-life skills will mean good paying jobs for veterans and all students. We have made the first two-years of community college education free for recent high school graduates and I will continue to ensure an affordable safe education is available for everyone. Success for our ethnically diverse students is a major priority.
I have served as Board Chair of the State Center Community College District (SCCCD) Board of Trustees, Clovis Chamber of Commerce and Vice Chair of the California Health Science University, which will produce doctors and pharmacists. I was inducted into the Clovis Citizens Hall of Fame.
I’m honored to be endorsed by many community and business leaders like Bill Smittcamp, Supervisor Nathan Magsig, City of Clovis Mayor Drew Bessinger, City of Clovis Mayor Pro Tem Jose Flores, Clovis Councilmember Vong Mounantoua, CSU Fresno retired President Dr. John Welty and former SCCCD Chancellors Drs. Bill Stewart and Tom Crow, and Janet L. Young, Former Superintendent of Clovis Unified School District.
